Highlights from Director Chris Goymer’s Announcement on the 262 Union Street Building Acquisition

Shortly after acquiring the former NatWest bank at 262 Union Street, Director
Chris Goymer shared a post on LinkedIn highlighting why this landmark property
was an important addition to the Black Atom Group portfolio.

In his announcement, Chris described the building as an iconic and well-located asset in the heart of Aberdeen’s city centre and noted that the acquisition reflects the company’s long-term commitment to investing in Aberdeen and supporting the regeneration of Union Street.

He also confirmed that Black Atom Group is investing £1 million into the redevelopment
of the property, combining respect for its historic character with modern refurbishment plans. As he wrote in his original post, “This strategic acquisition aligns perfectly with our vision
for growth and expansion in Aberdeen, demonstrating our ongoing commitment
to investment in Aberdeen city centre.”

Chris also acknowledged the efforts of the OurUnionStreet group, whose work
in promoting and revitalising Aberdeen’s Union Street played a positive role
in the decision to purchase the building.

Stay tuned for updates as refurbishment continues at 262 Union Street. Once the retail and restaurant units are complete, the upper floors will be converted into residential flats, with an anticipated availability date of late 2026 to early 2027.
